Not many old-time joints are noted for their food, but visitors to Old Town Bar near Union Square all seem to enjoy the burgers. The real reason locals love the joint, however, is the no-frills experience that solo drinkers and groups alike can enjoy any day of the week. Be it a wintry Sunday afternoon or a Tuesday happy hour in summer, Old Town Bar warmly welcomes everybody to its 55-foot mahogany and marble bar. Especially those who turn off their Blackberrys!

  • Benoit A dinner in this bar last week, invite us to vote for him. It was a pleasure to find this authentic bar. Best wishes from France. Sunday, Apr 19 at 3:46 AM
  • Finbar Boyle Was there as a tourist last year. Wasn't treated as a tourist. Returned this year, and the staff remembered my name. Courtesy, good NY manners and a bit of crack. And they know the story of their town, they're proud of their town, they make a stranger welcome. It's not a tourist trap, It's a classic New York Saloon. Saturday, Apr 18 at 9:43 PM
