You might have heard of Charity:Water. Maybe you've even donated money in the past. But with all of the financial turmoil lately, and all of the attendant griping, some perspective might be in order. You might be thinking about getting rid of the car because the parking lot is too expensive. Or having a downsized Christmas this year. Maybe the company holiday party was even canceled. Well, Charity:Water has not canceled its company holiday party, so to speak. Now about that perspective: One in six people worldwide don't have access to clean and safe drinking water. And the third annual Charity: Ball benefit at the Metropolitan Pavilion this Monday Dec. 15, hosted by Adrian Grenier and Jessica Stam is one way the group is working to help make a difference. Tickets to the event range between $250 and $1,000 and can be purchased here. The organization will also mark the beginning of its $20 bottle water sale, from which 100 percent of the proceeds go to help those without access to clean drinking water.

And the group is optimistic about making a difference. "Despite uncertain financial times, charity:water has seen giving go up this year," says charity: water founder Scott Harrison. "And we can’t wait to fight for clean and safe drinking water with 1,500 people in New York City.”
