Dunkin' Donuts is putting the sweet back into your swipe by giving out free morning-commute subway rides at four high-traffic subway stations for a full month. Nice! Eater tips us off to the stunt, part of Dunkin' Donuts' "You Kin Do It!" campaign, designed to bolster sagging morale and keep New Yorkers chugging along when all we really want to do is crawl back under the covers until next January. (Smartly, DD has recognized that a free fare will do more for our outlook than a free donut.)

We wholeheartedly love this idea, and hope it kicks off a spate of copycat giveaways from retailers and restauranteurs around town. We'd feel much better about the our future prospects if, say, Momofuku were to give out a free pork bun for every résumé we send out. Talk about incentive! And surely all this recessiony tension between our shoulder blades could be helped by a few free minutes of high-end massage or a mini-facial at Bliss. Check out Eater for stations and times of the giveaway.

          Um, No: Tinsley Mortimer

Always taking style to the next level, socialite Tinsley Mortimer took the alarming trend of frothy, flowery embellishments and added some extra tiers. The result, alas, is more cake than fashion.
