Just about every night at the theater this season might feel like kids' night -- from "Billy Elliot" to "13: The Musical."

But come February, Broadway makes it official.

Tickets went on sale this week for the annual Kids Night on Broadway , which offers a free theater ticket for children ages 6 through 18.

But as NewYorkology points out, the catch is that for each free ticket, you need to buy a full-price adult ticket, and there are plenty of other ways to get discounted and even half-price tickets, including TKTS.

To see which shows have been offering discounts, check Playbill's weekly grosses page. Under the average paid admission column, you can see what people have really been paying to get in. While preview performances of "Dividing the Estate" and "American Buffalo" were both going for under $50 a ticket on average last week, several are still getting more than $100 per ticket, including "Jersey Boys," "South Pacific," "Wicked" and "Shrek."

Kids Night on Broadway is scheduled for two nights in 2009: February 3 and 4. A couple musicals have already sold out, but tickets are still available for most of the shows, including "Shrek," "Mary Poppins" and "Gypsy."
