Jacque Reid joined NBC 4 New York’s "New York Live" which airs weekday afternoons at 3 p.m. in August 2011, joining current hosts Jane Hanson and Sara Gore. Formerly known as "LX New York," "New York Live" is a revamped, hour-long, live, lifestyle show.
With Reid completing the cast, the trio offer afternoon audiences the latest in the very best of New York living including celebrity news, top food and restaurant choices, and hot fashion trends.
Prior to joining NBC 4 New York, Reid was a regular guest co-host on ABC’s Emmy Award-winning show "The View" as well as a correspondent for the nationally syndicated "Tom Joyner Morning Show" where she presented her segment, Inside Her Story, a feature focused on women’s issues.
In addition, Reid is a regular guest commentator on HLN’s "Joy Behar Show" and a contributing editor for The Root where she writes weekly on various topics.
Reid worked as the anchor of CNN Headline News from 1999-2001. Prior to CNN, she had worked at CBS and NBC affiliates in, Houston, TX and Lexington, KY as a general reporter and anchor, and in Brunswick, GA as a reporter. From 2001-2005, Reid worked with BET as the sole news anchor for the network’s news program "BET Nightly News."
In 2004, Reid returned to CNN to cover the Republican National Convention as a special correspondent and commentator for Larry King Live.
Reid is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn, and the New York Alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She has also served on various boards including the Talbot Scholarship Board which provides funding to young female college students and Uplift Jamaica, a non-profit organization which provides assistance to Jamaican residents in need.
An Atlanta native, Reid graduated from Clark Atlanta University with a BA in Print Journalism and later received her MA in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern University.
